How do you treat an open wound on a toad?

I used cotton swabs dipped in saline toclean the wound and applied antibiotic ointment (Neosporin without painkiller). I also tied a thread slightly above the injurysite to act as a tourniquet and prevent further infection, and possibly allow for his limb to naturally come off.
