the equation of line through (4,-1)

then here x=4 and y -1

now every line is in the form y=mx+c

comparing it with given equation

we find that m=2

then equation is y=2x-9

Slope of line which is parallel to given line is

y=mx+c

m=2(slope of parallel line)

If the lines are parallel then slope of line is m1.m2=-1

m=-1/2

The eqn. of line

m= y-y1/x-x1

where ,x1=4 y1=-1

Using formula

-1/2=y-4/x+1

x+2y-3 =0

Hope it will help you.
