Answer:

It depends on the subject and the topic that the literary piece is revolving around on. I have read literary pieces (some are not poems) that focus on similar topics, some of our modern literary pieces talk about sexuality and “coming out” which is similar to some foreign poems.

It depends, im just in grade 11 and they made us read poems and literary pieces made by Filipinos that revolve around gender identity, and im confused as to why are we required to learn all those stuff. Personally speaking, I just treat respectable people with respect. My criteria for respectable people are pretty straight forward if you are genuinely kind to me, to others, and doesn't force your beliefs on to others, I deem you respectable.

Answer:

Poetry in the Philippines is not different

from its other counterparts around the

world. In the early 1900s, Filipino poetry

celebrated romanticism, and several

poems about love flourished.

Eventually, as the years went on, poetry became more formalist - the emphasis of the poetry is more on the form and language that the poet used, rather than the theme itself. Then, modern poetry sprouted, and nowadays, writers are more adventurous in their craft.
