Biogas is a mixture of gases formed from waste materials, manure, food wastage, and agricultural waste etc. and is considered a renewable fuel. It can therefore help to reduce pollution.

EXPLANATION:

The biogas so formed and 'released' into the atmosphere can instead be used as an alternative to different fuels used thereby reducing pollution.

Biogas can be used as a fuel because it is a mixture of gases like 'methane' and 'carbon monoxide' that can easily be oxidized to form fuel that can be used for heating purposes. 'Biogas' can be used in gas engines to convert energy to heat and electricity.
