A cactus have their leaves reduced to spines, therefore, their stem contains chlorophyll and photosynthesis takes place through the stem.

the leaves are not present in cactus but the stem does all the works that leaves do like photosynthesis and transportation transpirations occurs less because of the adaptation of thrones in cactus
