a computer works with the electrical energy needed to start the the CPU first........ this CPU helps to manange all the functions that u will going to use..... then we have a keyboard, a mouse & other small assecories... and devices used for various purposes like typing, pointing, etc.......
sometimes we have UPI which helps to manage the computer even is the electric supply is turned off........
