A covalent bond is formed when electrons are shared between two atoms.

MELTING AND BOILING POINTS.

Melting and boiling points are low as compared to ionic compounds to to weak intermolecular forces

ELECTRICAL CONDUCIVITY-

Covalent compounds do not conduct electricity because the atoms are shared. Hence there is no eectric charge. Thus, electricity is not conducted.

Formation of N2

A nitrogen atom has the valency 3

Hence

N ≡ N
