How does a displacement reaction differ from a double displacement reaction? Give examples to explain the same

Answer : In case of displacement reaction the more reactive metal displaces or takes place of the lesser reactive metal in a compound.

for eg:

Copper sulphate+ iron -> iron sulphate + copper

on the other hand, in displacement reaction  both the metals exchange their radicals in a compound. For eg: Nacl+BaSO4-> BaCl + NaSO4

or

sodium chloride+barium sulphate -> sodium sulphate + barium chloride
