In displacement reaction, only single molecule is displaced by in double displacement reaction both the molecules are displaced.
E. g. Displacement reaction
Zn. + 2HCl --------->ZnCl2 + H2
Double displacement reaction
ZnSO4 + HCl. ----------> ZnCl2+ H2SO4
