how does a lightning conductor protect a tall building

A lightning conductor as the name suggests conducts the electric charge which hits the building through it and hence does not allow the charge to pass through the building materials protecting the tall building.

lightning conductor this is a simple device used to protect tall buildingsfrom the Lightning it. consists of a long thick copper rod passing through the building to the ground the. lower end of the rod is connected to a copper plate buried deeply into the ground a metal.
