MCBs or Miniature Circuit Breakers are electromechanical devices which protect an electrical circuit from an overcurrent.

Generally MCB are designed to protect against over current and over temperature faults (over heating).

There are two contacts one is fixed and the other moveable.

Explanation:

An MCB is an automatically operated electrical switch. Miniature circuit breakers are intended to prevent damage to an electrical circuit as a result of excess current. They are designed to trip during an overload or short circuit to protect against electrical faults and equipment failure.
