How does a plane mirror form an image of a point source of light placed at a certain distance from it ? Draw a day diagram.

A point source of light is in front of a plane mirror. (a) Show that all the reflected rays, when extended back behind the mirror, intersect in a single point. [Hint: See Fig. 23.27a and use similar triangles.] (b) Show that the image point lies on a line through the object and perpendicular to the mirror, and that the object and image distances are equal
