a plant takes carbon dioxide from the air through stomata present on the surface of leaf. then it captures the energy of sunlight and uses this energy to break the water molecule to produce oxygen. it uses the carbon dioxide to compose glucose molecule that is C6H12O6. the products of the photosynthesis reaction are glucose, oxygen, and water. it transports the food through the phloem vessels. the phloem vessels do active transport that is it uses energy to transport the food particles in the whole plant body. the food can move both ways, whether in the upward direction or the downward direction. the food particles pass through the sieve tubes and keep filtering through the sieve plates. the companion cells situated near the sieve tubes provide energy to transport the food. the phloem parenchyma supports the companion cells and the phloem fibres give support to the whole system.
