how does a solenoid behave like a magnet can you data mine the north and south pole of the current carrying solenoid with the help of bar magnet recording

Magnetic field lines are produced around the solenoid when a current is passed through it. . It means the end of solenoid which is connected to the negative terminal of the battery behaves as north pole as like poles repel each other similarly the other and behaves as a south pole.
