It is the quantity of a particular substance that can be dissolved in
a particular solvent to form a saturated solution at a given
temperature. It depends on the physical and chemical properties of the
solute and solvent as well as on temperature.
Ex: Solubility of common salt (NaCl) in 100 grams of water is 38grams. With the increase in temperature further amount salt can be added to it to make it a supersaturated solution.
For most of solutes the solubility increases with increase in temperature.
If the temperature of saturated solution increases then solubility of the solution increases. So that further a little amount of solute can be added to it, that forms a supersaturated solution.Ex: Solubility of common salt (NaCl) in 100 grams of water is 38grams. With the increase in temperature further amount salt can be added to it to make it a supersaturated solution.
