A teleprompter or autocue is actually a very simple device you can make yourself using a piece of glass and a laptop or tablet. You place the screen horizontally in front of the camera lens and then place the piece of glass at 45 degrees in front of the camera lens so that when the speaker looks at the lens they see the writing on the screen reflected on the glass. You can find free software to manage the scrolling of the text very easily.
