How does a tendency of the elements to lose electrons change in the modern periodic table in first A Group II A period and why

because for every element tgeir ultimate goal is to gain stability which can be obtained by having octet(8) electrons in last element

our modern periodic table is designed in a way that group number indicates the no.of electrons in last shell so 1st and 2nd group elements have 1 and 2 electrons respectively so they can lose 2 electrons to complete their octet rule
