A thermos flask is a simple device that that has different layers which act upon to reduce the transfer of heat . It actually has two walls , the space between which is vacuum . This is doen to prevent heat transfer by conduction and convection . The outer surface of the inner wall has a silver coating , which is done to minimize radiation ( as it doesn't require a medium ) .
