Stalking and Attack

Tigers usually stalk and ambush their prey. At night, their stripes help them hide in dense underbrush, trees and grass as they creep toward their intended meal. When they're close enough -- 30 to 35 feet away -- they break from cover, race toward the prey and attack.

when navigating through darkness the tiger's pupils dilate to let more light enter the eye to increase their vision. The dilated pupils of their eye assist their night vision but makes focusing on objects up close difficult. The tiger's mystacial whiskers help it feel it's way through the dark
