◆ Effect of nature of adsorbate on extent of adsorption -

- Elemental gases like H2, O2, N2 are hardly adsorbed by the solids.

- Compound gases mainly NH3, CO2, H2S are absorbed to a greater extent by solid adsorbent.

- Gas that is been adsorbed is called adsorbate.

- Solid that adsorbs the gas is called adsorbent.
