How does alian species reduce biodiversity?

They grow at an enormous rate due to lack of their competitors or natural predator.
If the no. of alien species will be large then they will also be using large resources and other species have to suffer due to lack of resources.
For example- Water hyacinth was introduced in India, it grows in stagnant water and requires large amount of oxygen. Due to their greater demand fishes have to face the problem of oxygen and resulted in decrease in the no. of fishes.
