When aluminium reacts with steam , it forms aluminium hydroxide and hydrogen gas is liberated . Aluminiumforms a very strong oxide when reacted with normal water , but whensteam is passed over aluminium , it forms aluminium hydroxide due to more energy being supplied to energy .
