Here is your answer! ❤

What is Amoeba?

Amoeba is a unicellular and micro - organism organism.

How Does it obtains it's food?

Amoeba obtains it food by the help of its false feet or Pseudopodia.

And with the help of process Endocytosis

It traps it's food (a food particle) by the pseudopodia and engulfs it and ingests it in its body. There are vacuoles present inside the body of amoeba. the vacuoles secretes the digestive juices to digest the food particle. When it is digested, the nutrients are absorbed by amoeba. After that food particle is egested out of the body

Thank You! ☺✌

Answer:

Amoeba obtains its food with a process, known as Phagocytocis.

Explanation:

Phagocytosis : It is the process ( simple diffusion ) by which unicellular organisms take in food.

Amoeba is a unicellular organism, which take phytoplanktons and zooplanktons as their food. Whenever it comes across any such food, it develops a false feet called , Pseudopodia . It grabs the food partivle with the help of this false feet and then ingests it into its cell membrane.

The digestion in amoeba is a Holozoic process. It includes, Ingestion , Digestion, Absorption , Assimilation and Egestion.

Food is digested by the digestive enzymes present in the food vacuole. Enzymes from the cytoplasm enters the food vacuole and breaks down the food into smaller and soluble molecules by chemical reactions.

The digested food particles present in the food vacuole is absorbed directly into the cytoplasm of the Amoeba cell, by the means if diffusion. The food vacuole disappears after absorption.

A part of the dissolved food is used to obtain energy through respiration and the rest is used for the growth of the cell. Thus , it can reproduce by dividing into daughter cells.

At last, the undigested part of the food is thrown out of the Amoeba cell.

Thanks !
