Amoeba obtains its food by the process of endocytosis. ... It engulfs the food particle with the help of pseudopodia and then forms a vacuole around it. When the particle is completely trapped the amoebasecretes digestive enzymes that digests the food. thus the amoebaobtains it's food.

When a particle of food reaches near the amoeba , the amoeba forms two finger like projections known as pseudopodia and engulfs the food particle forming a food vacuole. Then digestive enzymes are passed through the food vacuole to make it easier for the amoeba to absorb the food particle.
