Amoeba obtains its food by psuedopodia.
Where psuedo means fake and podia means feet.
It creates a fake feet like structure and locomotes near the food particle.
And ingests the food

the amoeba obtains its food by the process of endocytosis. Amoeba has flexible cell membrane. This engulfs the particle with the help of it's pseudopodia and then forms a vacuole around it. When the prey is completely trapped the amoeba secretes digestive enzymes that digests the food. And the finger like projections are called pseudopodia.
