Answer: The formula of ammonia molecule is NH₃ and the formula of ammonia ion is NH₄⁺.

The Nitrogen has the valency of 3 thus NH₃ molecule has 3 hydrogen with it and ammonia ion (NH₄⁺) has one hydrogen extra thus it is an ion which is unstable and NH₃ molecule is stable.
