An amoeba is a single-celled microorganism that can be seen with the help of a microscope.

Amoeba feeds on other microscopic organisms which float in the water. When they sense food nearby, they produce pseudopodia (false feet) and catch the food. This food goes into their food vaccule (which is also temporary) and gets the nutrition from it. After that the leftover food is thrown out of the body through temporary anus by the process of egestion.
