Amoeba forms finger like projection which is called pseudopodia which is in constant touch with the environment .It surrounds the food and engulfs it by throwing its pseudopodia over it.then the food is digested by pouring digestive juices in the food vacuole. the waste toxic material is then removed out of the body by the same method i.e... the food vacuole comes near the outer edge and then it bursts and the food is expelled.
