how does an electrolyte conduct electricity

Helloo!!

Electrolytes are able to conduct electricity because the ions in solution are able to carry charge and move it around. A metal conducts because the electrons can move around freely while in an electrolytic solution, the ions move around freely. The only way that something can conduct is if charged particles such as electrons or ions can move to carry the current.
