The electroscope work on the principle of the electrostatic force of repulsion. It usually constructed with a metal wire with theme file leaves hanging from the bottom and of the wire. If a charged object is brought near the top of the electroscope, the leaves at the bottom move apart. The greater the charge of the object, the farther apart the leaves move.
