anaerobic respiration takes place in muscles of human beings. this happens when we do a more amount of physical work. and sometimes sufficient amount of oxygen is unable to reach the muscles hence anaerobic respiration occurs in muscles and lactic acid is formed.

Answer:

Anaerobic respiration refers to the respiration process that generates cellular energy in the absence of oxygen.

In the case of human beings, the anaerobic respiration mainly occurs in cells of muscles at the time of workout with relatively high-intensity. When there is an insufficient amount of oxygen present then there occurs anaerobic respiration liberating a certain amount of lactic acid with it. This type of respiration also originates by performing those activities that take a shorter period of time but intensive bursts of muscle power. For example, powerlifting, taking a sprint. The anaerobic respiration generates higher energy and is about 100 times faster but less efficient in comparison to aerobic respiration.
