Anne was presented a diary on her thirteenth birthday. She took it into hiding with her because she believed that it would make the perfect friend and confidant. She did not know her words would live on after her death.
The diary became an important part of Anne's life,in fact it helped her in having a more matured mind. Anne usually wrote all the things she thought about and the happenings of everyday life which helped her a lot in controlling her feelings. Anne did not want to show her diary to anyone and did not want to lose it or get away from it. Writing a diary was a new and strange experience for her as she shared her feelings to the diary about her feelings towards others specially Peter, about the war and so on.
Hope this answer helps you buddy, do mark the branliest of it if it did help you.
