Antony says that Caesar rejected the kingly crown not once, but thrice. He brought home captives to ransom off for Rome. He even cried when he saw any poor being weeping due to any heavy loss but, an ambitious man, as Brutus had called Caesar, should be made of “sterner stuff”. He also disclosed Caesar's will which stated ‘his gift of seventy-five drachmas to each man, his bequest of newly planted orchards and his private arbors to every Roman’ to the public at the pulpit. This proved that Caesar, in actuality, was not an ambitious man. The plebeians were shocked and angered by the murder of such a great and humble man that would share his wealth with the common man. With a herd-like tendency, they side with Antony and turn against the conspirators, setting out to find and kill them.
