Archaeological sources are considered as one of the important primary sources to decipher the history of mankind.

Artifacts like pottery, mechanical tools, buildings, households and fossils can be examined under carbon dating techniques to find the exact age of those artifacts. Finding the ages of those artifacts and tools may improve the ideology of an historian to make further research over the objects.  Further, the researcher can make a forward move through some reference of old texts and parchments.

Archeology is a discipline which includes theoretical and practical ways of studying.

One can read about historical incidents and at the same time visit the places of interest, look into the commodities avaiable there and study them and their timelines in detail.

Through detailed studies of the old pieces of sculpture and artefacts, one can know the exact date of their production and thus their historical and sociological significance of that time.
