left to right atomic size decreases and from top to bottom it increases

btsisthebest: Why ?
kavya110: because left to right atom pulls the electron as it increases so atomic size decreases and vice versa

Left to right reduces because as the no. of electrons increses the nucleus tends to pull the valence shell towards it.

Top to bottom increases because new shells are being added up and hence nuclear force on valence shell will be less.
