nutrients are passed to the embryo, then fetus, via the placenta and umbilical cord. ... Whatever food shewill take , it gets digested and all thenutrients and minerals start travellingin the blood to reach different areas ofbody as per need. The baby isconnected to mother via an umbilical cord.
