How does baking powder help the brad or cale to rise and what is the role pf tartaric acid?

it releases carbon dioxide on heating which makes the bread or cake rise and fluffy

tartaric acid

it is used in cake or bread because it reacts with sodium bicarbonate and neutralise it

note:- if the tartaric acid is not present in baking powder then the cake taste bitter
due to sodium bicarbonate present in it.
