How does basil 24x7 oxygen give?
Answers
Any (all) plants capable of doing photosynthesis non-stop (24 hours) provided you give light.
My aquarium plants do that, you can observe bubble coming out even at night (surely strong light was there in aquarium).
In fact, I once contradicted a Deputy Director of DAV (North Bihar) to the definition of photosynthesis.
Definition in most text book is
Hi my dear friend,
CO2 + H2O - - {in presence of sunlight & chlorophyll} - - > Glucose (C6H12O6) + O2
I many a time correct it as - -
CO2 + H2O - - {in presence of light & chloroplast or Plastid} - - > Glucose (C6H12O6) + O2
In fact, I further correct my students in higher classes {10,11,12} as - - >
6CO2 + 12 H2O - - >{in presence of light &plstid} - - > Glucose (C6H12O6) + 6O2+6H2O
{as to do whole process of photosynthesis, both grana & stroma of plastid is required, not only chlorophyll} & Hill reaction tells us, all (by product O2 comes from water, so 6O2 from 12 H2O).
Sorry, I hate over simplification (which does such an error that senior biology teachers face lot of problems}.
Better teach less than teach wrong.
