Breathing is a biophysical process and respiration is a biochemical process.

In Breathing we inhale Oxygen and expel Carbon dioxide and in respiration the body uses oxygen for breakdown of glucose to release energy.

During respiration ATP is produced but no ATP is produced when we breathe.

Breathing is an exchange of gases between cells and external environment and respiration takes place into the cells.

Breathing involves inhale of oxygen from the atmosphere into the lungs and exhale of carbon dioxide from the lungs into the atmosphere ; whereas cellular respiration involves breakdown of glucose into carbon dioxide and water in living cells, releasing energy.
