Building of large dams results in the destruction of eco system of that river. The dam build on a river block the river, so for aquatic animals who used to live in the river lost there home. Again due to a dam the area near the dam may suffer from unpredictable flood. If the rainfall will occur heavily and the dam could not hold that amount of water , the area will get submerge in water. As a result loss of life , property etc would occur then. In these ways the building of dams causes environmental problems.
