  • The burning of fossil fuel gives out harmful compounds like sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides. These substances will rise terribly high into the atmosphere, wherever they combine and react with water, oxygen, and other chemicals to form a lot of acidic pollutants, called air pollution.
