How does carbon atom get excellent gas configuration?

Carbon atom an important constituent of life. It firms bond with many other element. Carbon forms 18% of human body also without carbon plant will not able to survive in the environment. It has covalent bonds as it shares electron with other elements. Carbon is biomoleculous,  lipids, proteins, carbohydrate, nuclei acid all contains carbon. Hence till harmony to cell DNA everywhere we are able to see carbon. Therefore it has excellent configuration which makes him this good to form bonds with other elements.
