Caste goes hand in hand in Politics and it takes various forms in almost every political system of world, especially in India
When parties choose their candidates they select nominees from different castes so as to ensure majority and support from that particular community and win the election
The party contesting in a election has to wins the vote bank of a particular caste who may form majority of votes in that part of the constituency where the party is contesting in election.
In simple words, the party has to gain the major proportion of the particular caste.
Selection of Candidates in Politics: When parties choose candidates in elections, they keep in mind the caste composition of the electorate and nominate candidates from different castes so as to muster necessary support to win elections. When governments are formed, political parties usually take care that representatives of different castes and tribes find a place in it.
