Answer:

Heathcliff and Catherine's relationship is a lot like Hareton and Cathy because Hareton is a lot like Heathcliff, and Cathy is exactly like her mother. Heathcliff and Catherine have been together for a long time since they were kids. Heathcliff and Catherine are more fascinating characters and their relationship is unique. Hareton and Cathy are so sweet together. The love between Heathcliff and Catherine and out of this world and we can’t say the same about Hareton and Cathy because we don’t find out how they end. Hareton and Cathy are definitely a nicer, and more likable couple. I prefer their love story, only because Heathcliff and Catherine are so selfish. I don’t think true love should be like that. When Catherine says, “How strange! I thought, though everybody hated me and despised each other, they could not avoid loving me.” (Bronte. 120) She thinks everyone loves her no matter what happens which shows how selfish she is and Heathcliff is the exact same way. The story of catherine and heathcliff ended with sad ending and their life was completely covered in crisis because of such problems, They became too negative characters. Especially heathcliff who didn't love his only son where as Cathy and Hareton were good nature and they've respect for others. People say Hareton and Cathy redeemed the book after reading about Heathcliff and Catherine’s love story. Which could be the case if you feel that Heathcliff and Catherine were to selfish and if you didn’t like them. Catherine and Heathcliff are like couples these days they are selfish and are madly in love with each other. Hareton and Cathy are the couple everyone wants to be. They are so cute and they care about others. People don’t like Heathcliff and Catherine, but people love Hareton and Cathy.
