how does co2 after coming out of the fire extinguisher cylinder function to extinguish fire​

Answer:

CO2 is heavier than oxygen.So,it settles down and covers the fire.We all know that oxygen is essential for burning.As carbon dioxide covers the fire, the fire does not get adequate oxygen and therefore gets extinguished.
