if we compare a small stand of dna with other species then the amount of matching and mismatch decide if the organism belongs to that family or evoluted from that organism
let us take an example that if we evolve from monkies then or dna strand will match with that organism and according to studies 99% of dna matches with then it means we are evolved from them
