alveoli is surrounded with capillaries and it has a very thin diffusing membrane so oxygen easily diffuses into our blood.this virus affects the walls and the lining of capillaries and alveoli. this debris gets accumulated between the diffusion membrane and reduces rate of gaseous exchange resulting in breathing issues.
