Culture influence expression of emotions

Explanation:

Culture plays a major role in defining, displaying, perceiving, and experiencing a person’s emotions. Each culture provides specific structure, rules, guidelines and expectations which are reflected in a person’s emotions.

This is called the ‘cultural display rule’ explained through cultural scripts and contexts which dictate specific rules and standards which govern that culture.

Culture influences a person’s understanding, interpretation and expression of emotions.

Based on the cultural or geographical concepts, emotions of people will vary; however, it may not be acceptable to universal emotions.

In western regions, culture is more inclined towards high arousal emotions; while in eastern regions, it is based on low arousal emotions. In some countries, people express emotions through controlled facial expressions.
