  • A cylinder is a rectangle with two circular bases.

  • The faces of the cylinder are parallel and congruent circles.

  • The height of the cylinder is the perpendicular distance between the base.

  • The lateral surface of an object is defined as the area of a curved surface, excluding the area of its base and top.

  • In the lateral surface area of a cylinder, the radius is directly proportional to the height of the Cylinder.

  • The Curved Surface Area of the Cylinder = 2πrh

Total Surface Area of Cylinder Formula

  • The surface area of the cylinder is the area of a curved surface of a cylinder including circular top and base.

  • Area =2πr(r+h)
