How does deforestation cause an increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere

Due to deforestation, the level of oxygen decreases in environment. And plants also take CO2 to do various processes and releases oxygen in return. So if no. of plants will reduce, usage of CO2 will also decrease and thus the levels of C02 in the environment will also increase.
